• About David

    David J. Cord worked eight years in America as a financial advisor to private clients. In 2005 he married a Finn and moved to Finland. There he also worked as a financial advisor before being named Managing Director of a European multinational financial services company.

     

    He was the project manager for the implementation of the Markets in Financial Instruments Directive, successfully upgraded the company’s investment service license and established distribution agreements with asset managers.

     

    David has been authorised to conduct investment services either directly or through passporting in Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Sweden and the United States. He has been licensed or approved by a number of regulatory authorities on both sides of the Atlantic.

     

    He is now Managing Partner of Cord Investment Partnership Ky., a private firm which invests primarily in Nordic equities to achieve its long-term goal of maximising intrinsic business value.

     

    An avid history buff, David is fascinated by the Roman Empire and ancient Scandinavia. He writes regular investment and economic articles for several publications as well as volunteering his services for several non-profit organisations. He lives in Helsinki with his wife Niina and his globe-trotting dog Orion.
